‘The Wire’ to be shown on NBC, CBS, and more: ‘The Walking Dead’ creator tells fans he’ll be back in ‘The Biggest Loser’ series finale
CBS has acquired the rights to “The Bigger Picture” and “The Wire” from NBC Universal, a source familiar with the deal told TheWrap.
CBS is owned by Comcast.CBS declined to comment.
“The Walking Wild West” executive producer Mark Gordon, who has worked on both series, will oversee the new series.
The deal marks the second big acquisition in a year for NBCUniversal.
The company purchased “The New Normal” from Netflix for $2.8 billion.
That deal also saw Netflix acquiring the rights for a third season.CBS also bought “The Bold and the Beautiful” from Fox for $3.2 billion, a deal that was completed in September.
