How to pay your wire bill with a tip: Tips for wire payments
- September 2, 2021
A tip from your friends and family can help you pay your bill with wire money, as long as you’re not a jerk.
Here’s what to do when you receive a wire payment from a friend or relative: *Ask the sender if they want to receive the money.
*Ask to see your friend’s bank account and check your account for any fees.
*Pay the wire.
*If the wire payment is more than $25, you should write a note on the wire that says “pay me” or “I will pay you.”
That will help you avoid a wire fraud charge.
Don’t forget to keep a note with your name and address on it.
Remember that a wire transfer to a friend can be considered an ATM transaction.
If you send money through a wire, you can use a credit card or bank transfer to transfer the money to the friend’s account.
If you can’t pay, you might need to call the bank and have it send you a letter telling you what you owe.
There’s also a good chance that a bank or credit union might send you the money you owe, but it could take a few weeks for the money, or the money might still be waiting to be paid.
